Policies
- Home prescreening
We screen homes for our “foster children,” as does any responsible rescue group. We do not apologize for only seeking what is best for the animals in our care, and we hope those interested in adoption will understand and not be offended by our scrutiny. The interview and home visit are beneficial to the new owner as well—we do our best to match each animal with the best possible home for that individual. And satisfaction is guaranteed!
- Spaying/neutering of animals in advance
We do not adopt out fertile animals, as part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted cats.
- Disease-free adoptions
Wherever possible, we declare a cat adoptable only after evaluation by a licensed veterinarian who has been approved by our board of directors. We screen for illness (including combo-testing for FeLV, FIV and FIP), and make sure all necessary vaccinations are up to date.
