The basics
Friends of Campus Cats is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that is dedicated (but not limited) to the humane and sensible management of feral and homeless cats on the University of Washington (Seattle) campus. We are not affiliated with any of the many larger animal welfare or animal rights organizations, and indeed we differ with many of their policies on ferals. We are a registered 501(c)(3) organization, and we are listed with GuideStar, one of the online standards for nonprofit accountability.

Board of directors:
- Sharon: Our founder and president, primary in-house caretaker, public relations department, policy guide, placement specialist, consultant, outreach manager, campus liaison, volunteer coordinator, veterinary liaison, and pretty much everything else. She’s also written most of the website content, and is responsible for the vast majority of the photos you’ll find here.
- Judy: Our intrepid secretary of the board, Judy has also hosted several of our Catnip Teas and has aided us at every Jumble Sale. Without her, Friends of Campus Cats wouldn’t be the same.
- Kathy: Acts as our foster-care coordinator. She has also provided foster care to countless cats over the years.
- Diana: Our fearless field coordinator and trapper extraordinare. She does most of the capturing of ferals for processing, and is a key element in managing our existing colonies. She can sometimes be seen crawling through dense brush to get to a growling trap; she also helps with in-house care and fosters a number of cats.
- Melissa, DVM: We have a real veterinarian on staff to advise us. She and her fellow veterinarian work with us on testing, vaccinations, and other veterinary care issues. We are indebted to them for their sound advice, their kindness towards their charges, and for helping us stay on top of the current state of the art.
- Ken: Our webmaster, server maintainer, and once the chair of our board. He’s also a soft touch for our cats.
- Rod: Rod is at heart an expert on spiders (he’s the arachnid curator at the Burke Museum), but has a weakness for our mission and our charges.
